Financial Planning and Analysis Supervisor
Base pay range: CA$/yr - CA$/yr
A Logistics organization is seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis Supervisor to join its finance team. Reporting to the Manager, FP&A, this role combines hands‑on financial analysis with team leadership, supporting budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, and strategic decision‑making. The successful candidate will bring a strong analytical mindset, leadership capability, and the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
Aboutthe Role
Reporting into the Manager, FP&A, this position is responsible for leading core financial planning and analysis activities while mentoring junior analysts and enhancing financial processes. The role partners closely with leadership to evaluate business performance, support strategic initiatives, and improve reporting and forecasting capabilities.
What You’ll Do- Lead and support a small team of financial analysts, providing guidance and oversight on complex analysis and deliverables.
- Perform budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning to support business decision‑making.
- Develop and refine financial, costing, and scenario models to evaluate profitability and overall performance.
- Analyze financial results, identify trends and variances, and present insights to senior leadership.
- Compile, analyze, and distribute KPI reporting and other management metrics.
- Support the implementation of process improvements to increase efficiency in month‑end and reporting cycles.
- Assist with the development and rollout of new financial systems, tools, and processes.
- Mentor and train junior analysts, including participation in onboarding and ongoing development.
- Contribute to ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as required.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, including 1–2 years in a leadership or mentorship role.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; CPA, CFA, or MBA required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is an asset.
