Lab Assistant

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Bolivar, MO is hiring a Lab Assistant to join our staff in the Cancer Center! CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 long‑term care facilities and 1 residential care facility. Offering acute care, emergency services, ambulatory care, pharmacies, walk‑in clinics, surgeries, addiction recovery, rehab therapies and more, CMH has its community covered!

Laboratory Services performs laboratory tests necessary for the diagnosis and treatment of hospital inpatients and outpatients in an accurate and timely manner.

Collecting and processing blood samples for the laboratory; acting as department receptionist; and filing and maintaining records.

• Collects specimens utilizing correct equipment and within specified time frames
• Logs, prepares, and sends specimen to reference laboratory as indicated
• Calls, faxes, and / or sends test results to physicians as needed
• Greets and directs incoming patients to appropriate areas; answers incoming calls and forwards to appropriate personnel
• Cleans equipment and work area, and stocks supplies as needed

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience:
  
  One or more years of experience preferred
• Skills:
  
  Organization, ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and to multitask
• Licensure/Certification: N/A
• Physical:
  Standing for the majority of the work day

Full‑time working 8:30am-5:00pm
