Overview

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Bolivar, MO is hiring a Patient Care Technician to provide exceptional care for our patients in the Respiratory Care Department. CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 Long-Term Care facilities and 1 residential care facility. Offering acute care, emergency services, ambulatory care, pharmacies, walk-in clinics, surgeries, addiction recovery, therapies and more, CMH has its community covered!

About the area: Bolivar is located in the Ozarks with a hometown feel and affordable housing options of rentals or apartments. Springfield is only 40 minutes away with Battlefield Mall, Big Shots golf, Wonders of Wildlife, Urban Air and many other family attractions and restaurants to visit. Only an hour away is Branson that includes many shows to see, Silver Dollar City and shopping!

About

the department

The Respiratory Care Department at CMH helps restore normal breathing patterns, increase tolerance and improve quality of life after respiratory difficulties and/or diseases. Our respiratory therapists identify patients  needs through comprehensive screening and evaluation and suggest a course of treatment and/or rehabilitation. We serve as the closest hospital for Polk County and six surrounding counties in our service area.

Responsibilities

A typical day includes performing patient care duties under the direction of licensed nursing personnel, utilizing equipment, supplies, and procedures appropriate to the ages of the patients served including infant, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations for all subsequent duties.

  • Assisting with patient assessment by collecting patient data and recording and reporting findings as appropriate.
  • Responding promptly to patient/staff requests for assistance.
  • Ensuring patient comfort measures are met by performing frequent rounds and anticipating patient needs.
  • Giving and receiving patient reports in an accurate and timely manner.
Job Requirements
  • Education:

    HS diploma
  • Experience:

    No experience needed. We provide on the job training. It is a plus if you are certified as a nurse assistant.
  • Skills:

    Good communication skills, patience, attention to detail, flexibility, intrapersonal skills, willingness to learn and be a valuable member of the department.
  • Licensure/Certification: N/A
  • Physical: ability to work at a fast pace with about 90% of the day consisting of walking/standing.

The position is PRN (Per Requested Need).
