- Full Time - Days - 08:30 am - 5 pm Monday-Friday
Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Bolivar, MOis hiring a Lab Assistant to join our staff in the Cancer Center! CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 long-term care facilities and 1 residential care facility. Offering acute care, emergency services, ambulatory care, pharmacies, walk-in clinics, surgeries, addiction recovery, rehabtherapies and more, CMH has its community covered!
About the department: The Laboratory Services Department at CMH performs laboratory tests necessary for the diagnosis and treatment of hospital inpatients and outpatients in an accurate and timely manner.
A typical day will include:Collecting and processing blood samples for the laboratory; actingas department receptionist;and filingand maintaining records.
- Collects specimens utilizing correct equipment and within specified time frames
- Logs, prepares, and sends specimen to reference laboratory as indicated
- Calls, faxes, and / or sends test results to physicians as needed
- Greets and directs incoming patients to appropriate areas; answers incoming calls and forwards to appropriate personnel
- Cleans equipment and work area, and stocks supplies as needed
Job Requirements:
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred - Experience:
One or more years of experience performing phlebotomy duties is preferred - Skills:
Organization, abilityto work in a fast-paced environment andto multitask - Licensure/Certification:
N/A; phlebotomy certification is preferred - Physical:
Standing for the majority of the work day
The position is:Full-time, Monday - Friday: 8:30am-5:00pm
