Job Purpose

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for conducting cycle counts and bin location audits, researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies, and working with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager in any inventory‑related functions concerned with inventorying materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse, or yard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform physical counts of inventory items to maintain accurate inventory.
  • Count and reconcile randomly chosen part numbers and/or locations on a daily basis.
  • Accurately input inventory control data to ensure inventory integrity.
  • Complete necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on time.
  • Trace the history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Use motorized equipment, including Order Picker, Sit‑Down Forklift, and Stand‑Up Reach Truck.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with inventory processes, procedures, and contractual obligations.
  • Physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets.
  • Utilize a computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1–3 months of related experience and/or training in inventory control.
  • Minimum 1–3 months of related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift.
  • Experience using WMS software (Synapse preferred).
  • PC literate with experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access database.
Education and/or Experience Required
  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and write emails.
  • Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets.
  • Forklift certification (a plus).
