We are seeking a Construction Technician to support the AKIRA Construction & Facilities team with store openings, rebuilds, and ongoing maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will possess basic construction skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.

Location: Bolingbrook, IL

Job Type: Full Time

• Assist in new store openings and rebuilds, including sanding, painting, cutting, and building in‑store fixtures
• Installing appliances and equipment at store locations
• Transport materials to and from job sites
• Support skilled trades (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, masons) as needed
• Operate hand tools and power tools (saws, drills, etc.) safely and effectively
• Perform equipment inspections and routine maintenance on tools
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines
• Travel to various Chicagoland locations and occasionally out of state
• Respond to urgent facilities needs outside of standard business hours (occasional nights and weekends)

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Full‑time availability (40+ hours/week)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb ladders
• Willingness to travel as required
• Strong adherence to safety practices and attention to detail

• Basic construction knowledge and hands‑on experience
• Proficient with hand and power tools
• Woodworking, carpentry, and fixture building skills a plus
• Basic technical proficiency (email, Zendesk ticketing, etc.)
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and drawings
• Responsive, team‑oriented, and adaptable to shifting priorities
• Flexible availability and willingness to respond to urgent needs outside typical hours

The starting pay range for this position is $17.00 an hour, based on experience and qualifications. Additional compensation and benefits may also apply and will be discussed during the hiring process.
