Job Summary
The Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary manufacturing environment. This role performs routine cleaning and sanitizing of production equipment, processing areas, offices, and common spaces while following all food safety, GMP, and company procedures. The Sanitation Technician plays a critical role in supporting product quality, workplace safety, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily sanitation of production lines, mixers, equipment, totes, drums, drains, and processing rooms per SOP requirements.
- Clean employee areas, restrooms, offices, hallways, warehouse, shipping, and receiving areas.
- Safely apply industrial foam cleaners and sanitizers to equipment and facility areas.
- Follow GMPs, HACCP, Lockout/Tagout, and all safety procedures.
- Properly dispose of garbage, cardboard, and plastic waste.
- Complete sanitation documentation including pre-operational inspections and daily drain cleaning logs.
- Report damaged equipment, safety concerns, or sanitation issues to the Sanitation Lead or Supervisor immediately.
- Wear required PPE and follow chemical handling guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks on time.
- Participate in required safety and sanitation training.
- Work flexible schedules including overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma preferred.
- Manufacturing or sanitation experience preferred.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 75 lbs.
- Repetitive motions including crouching and twisting.
