Overview
Finishing Department – Punch. The Finishing Department takes printed panels and turns them into individual cards. Punch Operators work 1st shift Monday - Friday 5:30am - 1:30pm and use a calibrated punch machine to cut individual cards from large, laminated sheets, inspecting each batch for quality, sorting the cards into boxes, and managing the material flow by clearing bins and reloading supplies.
This is a great role for those who enjoy hands-on work and maintaining steady, efficient production.
STARTING AT $17/HOUR, INCREASES BASED ON EXPERIENCE.
- Operate punching and related machinery (e.g., Oasys, Kurz, Burkle, Muhlbauer, Spartanics) to cut cards from laminated sheets, ensuring precise cuts and smooth corners.
- Inspect batches for quality, sort completed cards into boxes, and manage material flow by clearing bins and reloading supplies.
- Maintain a fast-paced, detail-oriented production environment; ensure consistency as products transition to the next stage.
- Ability to comprehend and translate written work instructions to provide training to other employees and temporaries assigned in the department.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Understand quality processes and procedures and the influences of the vision system (pixels, lighting, masking and filters) to ensure correct vision file is created.
- Maintain safety consciousness and adhere to general safety requirements.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills; adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Exposure to shop noise.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to operate mechanical machinery.
- Physically able to bend, lift, and stand for long periods.
- Flexibility on schedule; overtime and weekend work as needed.
- Ability to review work produced in a high-speed environment for extended periods.
- Adheres to Master Card and Visa association security standards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical trade school training is preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar manufacturing role.
- Basic computer skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
