Robot Technician – 2nd and 3rd Shift (Weather Tech®)
Weather Tech Direct is seeking well-qualified Robot Technicians to configure robotic systems, troubleshoot errors on thermoforming machines, and support production operations.
Responsibilities- Configure robot systems and perform job calibrations for production operations.
- Monitor robot systems and address or report operational issues during production.
- Assist in repairs to the robotic systems and modify robot programs as needed.
- Perform machine cycle and make necessary robot program modifications.
- Assess and troubleshoot operational errors, read product briefs and process sheets to ensure accurate machine setup.
- Operate HMI/MIU to optimize platen heights, install programs for robots, and input process numbers for mold changes.
- Use tape measure to confirm mold sizes and ensure equipment is properly positioned before mold removal.
- Clean and inspect molds between uses; report damage and dispatch for repair.
- Install, repair, or replace end‑of‑arm tooling for robotic machines.
- Perform preventative maintenance and housekeeping tasks to prevent productivity losses.
- Train new and existing team members on work‑area functions and share best practices.
- Cross‑train in adjacent areas that directly precede or follow your responsibilities.
- Perform job functions in compliance with safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain training and quality knowledge for products produced.
- Keep the work area clean and orderly; maintain equipment.
- Communicate clearly and collaborate as part of a team.
- Work weekends and overtime as required; set up next shift for success.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Previous machine set‑up experience (preferred).
- Knowledge of plastics and thermoforming (preferred).
- Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic processes in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations applicable to manufacturing.
- Proficient reading, writing, and understanding of verbal and written work orders/instructions in English.
- Basic math, measuring, and computer skills (required).
- Strong safety focus to prevent accidents, injuries, and quality issues.
- Experience using basic hand and power tools.
- Dependable with excellent attendance.
- Ability to work without close supervision in a team environment.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Proficient operation of measuring devices, machines, hand and power tools, manual lifting devices, and powered industrial vehicles.
- Competitive salary including $24.00/hr base rate with 2nd shift premium $1/hr and 3rd shift premium $1.50/hr.
