Maintenance Technician – Old World Industries
The Maintenance Technician is a hands‑on technical resource responsible for diagnosing and resolving production equipment problems, identifying corrective actions, and maintaining the reliability of machinery.
Responsibilities- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements on production machines.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock, anticipating needed items, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
- Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
- Provide maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepare maintenance reports.
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks.
- Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Basic arithmetic skills to resolve practical problems.
- Computer proficiency, including use of spreadsheets and reporting software.
- Ability to use required PPE.
- Understanding of written instructions and documentation.
- Logical troubleshooting approach and prioritization of production needs.
- Recognition and resolution of problems.

- Feeling and perceiving attributes of objects by touching with skin, particularly fingertips.
- Talking and expressing ideas verbally to convey detailed or important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Hearing and perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction.
- Close visual acuity required for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
- Close visual acuity required for inspecting visual defects, inspecting small parts, using measurement devices, and assembling parts at close distances.
- Visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
- Subject to environmental conditions with no protection from weather.
- Subject to extreme heat; temperatures may exceed 100°F.
- Subject to noise that may require shouting to be heard above ambient levels.
- Subject to hazards and work in close proximity to mechanical parts, moving vehicles, and/or chemicals.
- Required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
