Within our Retail locations, the Pharmacy Technician plays a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise. Technicians assist the pharmacy team to ensure that pharmacy operations run smoothly, prescriptions are filled promptly, safely and accurately, and we are providing caring service that exceeds patient expectations. They operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication.
Throughout their shifts and all customer and colleague interactions, they demonstrate genuine care and contribute to a safe and inclusive culture.
- Live our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care: create heartfelt and personalized moments when serving patients, offer immunizations and other services, and demonstrate compassionate care by solving or escalating patient problems.
- Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership (e.g., putting away deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks).
- Contribute to a high‑performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntary travel to other stores in the market.
- Understand and comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; comply with CVS policies to ensure patient safety and privacy.
- Deliver additional patient health‑care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and, where allowable, staffing off‑site clinics) as supported by required training and certification.
- Support immunizations, including completing state‑required licensure and training, educating patients about vaccines, monitoring adverse reactions, and managing vaccine supplies.
- Comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which includes but is not limited to age, education, and licensure/certification.
- State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention and focus: ability to concentrate, pivot quickly, and verify prescription information and label accuracy.
- Customer service and team orientation: friendly approach, notice patient reactions, respond appropriately.
- Communication skills: verbal and written communication, active listening.
- Mathematical reasoning: use math to determine dosage, supply, etc.
- Problem resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose best action.
- Physical demands: mobile, able to lift up to 20 lbs, reach overhead, use fingers, maintain visual acuity, basic communication.
- Additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
- 1–3 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer‑service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market.

- Time type:
Full time - Pay range: $17.00 – $27.00 per hour
