JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the driver with route preparation; navigating the route; loading, unloading and assembling documents and merchandise at the customer’s location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Navigate driver to the location including getting out of the truck at the location to assist driver in maneuvering around power lines, driveways, trees, etc. Helper must ALWAYS be out and guiding driver when driver is backing up truck.
- Telephone customers and notify them of expected arrival time.
- Maintain 5S’s Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain in dock areas including exterior truck wells.
- Accurately loads and unloads documents/merchandise on and off the truck. Ensures documents/merchandise is secure, safe and free from damage.
- Place and assemble merchandise at customer location as required.
- Assist driver with notifying the office of PO/PB results. Notifies dock supervisor of merchandise rejected by the customer.
- Assist daily with paperwork as needed.
- Occasionally fills in as driver (if properly licensed) when driver is absent.
- Adherence to the Company’s Appearance Guidelines.
- Authority as detailed in the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS- Education/Certification/Licensure: High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to obtain Class C driver endorsement.
- Experience: Proven track record of consistently exceeding Helper requirements with no felony convictions.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong knowledge of Packoutz merchandise policies. Good driving record that meets Packoutz standards. Strong customer orientation with excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability to effectively use power and hand tools. Attention to detail.
- WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL ABILITIES: While performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee spends approximately 10% of their day preparing for the route; 20% in a truck, and 70% unloading, loading, moving furniture and other merchandise. Must be able to ride and/or operate a motor vehicle on a daily basis for extended periods of time; and climb in and out of the vehicle.
Frequently operates power and hand tools. Continuously sits, walks, bends, crouches, kneels, climbs (on and off the truck; and stairs), lifts and carries at least 100 lbs, pushes, pulls and grips. Occasionally may lift above shoulder level.
Compensation: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
