As a Sr. Software Development Engineer at Micron you will configure, develop, test, maintain and support Micron and third party applications. You will create and analyze software specifications, and research, design, document, modify, test, and support software throughout the development life cycle. You can demonstrate the functional and technical skills necessary to switch between development technologies and merge them to deliver the best solution.
You have a proven ability to create quality software and participate in quality improvement efforts. You will provide solutions that create business value while at the same time minimizing negative impact through defects, downtime, or performance degradation.
- Coordinate tool automation and host enhancements by partnering with automation developers and domain experts to deliver projects on schedule
- Gather, prioritize, and document requirements for new automation systems and enhancements across 300mm fabs globally
- Test and support manufacturing and automation software releases, including upgrades and resiliency improvements
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation and software issues in a daily support role, including 24x7 on‑call rotation
- Maintain user documentation and provide regular project status reporting to management
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field and a minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience as a software developer in enterprise software development, implementations, and support
- Hands‑on experience with object‑oriented programming and software development lifecycle practices
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
- Software testing experience in a manufacturing or automation environment
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Experience supporting or integrating automation systems in a semiconductor or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of software architecture, system integration, and automation tool frameworks
- Experience crafting user documentation and training materials for software releases
- Proven ability to solve complex software and automation issues across multiple systems
- Experience supporting global or multi‑site operations with standardized reporting and metrics
