Data Platform Engineer III (Healthcare)

Hybrid (Office 3 days/week – Onsite-Flex) within Oregon, Washington, Idaho, or Utah.

Job Overview

Cambia Health Solutions is building a person‑focused and economically sustainable health care system. The Data Platform Engineer III role will partner with Product to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, data integration solutions, and advanced analytics capabilities using the Snowflake cloud platform, SQL, Python, and orchestration tools such as Airflow and DBT.

Qualifications & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 6-8+ years of application and database development experience.
  • 6+ years of launching, maintaining, and testing data products; 3+ years of data modeling, design, and architecture.
  • 6+ years of proficiency writing complex, efficient SQL scripts, including advanced joins, aggregations, and window functions.
  • 4+ years of experience in cloud platforms such as Snowflake and AWS.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills & Attributes
  • Experience building and maintaining batch data pipelines with Airflow, Spark, EMR, S3, etc.
  • Strong dedication to code quality, automation, and operational excellence (CI/CD, unit/integration tests).
  • Proficient with modern SQL orchestration tools such as DBT, Mode, or Airflow.
  • Experience with data warehouses and lakes (Snowflake or equivalent).
  • Commitment to data privacy and integrity, acting in consumers’ best interests.
  • Integration of data from multiple sources into unified targets.
  • Awareness of and ability to manage direct computing costs such as Snowflake credits.
  • Knowledge of object‑oriented languages (Java desirable, not required).
  • Proficient with defensive programming.
  • Adherence to Cambia coding standards and contribution to technology improvement.
  • Adaptability to changing technologies and methodologies for limited‑scope needs.
Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using ETL/ELT on cloud platforms.
  • Develop data integration solutions to connect various data sources to a unified source of truth.
  • Create efficient, maintainable program and system solutions for complex business problems.
  • Automate workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and application integration.
  • Write code in SQL and Python.
  • Research, identify, and resolve highly technical programming problems in partnership with Product and Business teams.
  • Meet established deadlines while maintaining high quality.
  • Prepare work estimates for development or changes.
  • Perform testing and document results.
  • Use version control (Git Hub, Git Lab) for source code.
  • Deliver requirements analysis, system design, data models, program design, source code, test cases, documentation, and reporting.
  • Adhere to IT/engineering policies, procedures, and standards, including status reporting, team participation, one‑on‑one meetings, time tracking, and on‑call duties as defined by management.
Compensation

Base salary range: $120,000–$145,000 (updated to $104,000 low / $169,000 MRP). Bonus target: 15%.
