POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY
:
This position supports The Bridge, Ada County’s Youth and Family Resource Center, Ada County Juvenile Services. The Family Services Coordinator is responsible for developing, promoting and maintaining a family focused resource database that includes community-based and on-line parenting resources in addition to social service programs that support health, education, employment, housing, and food security. This position conducts assessments and screenings to identify individual and family needs, connecting to appropriate resources and facilitating referrals to community-based programs.
Provides direction and assistance in navigating community resources. This position supports The Bridge, Ada County’s Youth and Family Resource Center, Ada County Juvenile Services.
Performs routine and varied work under general direction and according to pre-defined guidelines.
- Provides excellent customer service to engage family members in community-based services, and program resources;
- Researches and maintains a comprehensive database of parent or family member specific resources;
- Works 1:1 with parents and or family members to assist them in gaining skills needed to improve outcomes for their youth;
- Develops and facilitates family education groups;
- Maintains a working knowledge and up-to-date understanding of community resources and the services provided;
- Collects and documents statistical data related to program assignments;
- Completes evidence-based assessments of clients and families;
- Coordinates activities in programmatic focus area;
- Monitors, reports on, and ensures compliance with operational requirements or established guidelines related to case management;
- Coordinates and provides case management services including referrals to community based resources;
- Keeps supervisor informed of workload, and notifies supervisor of potential problems;
- Ability to develop community and on-line resources that assist family members of at risk youth;
- Works with community-based providers and resources;
- Reviews processes and procedures in programmatic focus area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Psychology or a related human services field preferred;
- Knowledge and experience working with at risk youth and their families preferred;
- Knowledge of the juvenile justice system preferred;
- Experience working with vulnerable populations and/or social services preferred;
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of group work;
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of social services;
