Healthcare Mechanic – Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, Boise, is a full-time role supporting the Engineering and Facilities team. The role maintains and repairs facility systems to ensure a safe and functional environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

- Maintain and repair facility safety devices within the assigned area to ensure ongoing compliance with safety codes.
- Perform entry-level corrective and preventive maintenance on facility space, equipment, and systems according to general guidelines.
- General building repairs (e.g., repair/replace ceiling tiles, patch minor wall damage, paint).
- Entry-level carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing repairs.
- Entry-level operation of Central Plant Equipment, Fire, HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.
- Entry-level operation of wet and dry fire systems, including Simplex fire panel and fire response protocols.
- Understand and implement all department Standard Operating Procedures.
- Perform preventive maintenance as assigned.
- Maintain AIMS work order system understanding with minimum 90% time accountability daily.
- Maintain department basic skills for entry-level qualifications via on-the-job training and self-study.
- Prioritize and complete general repair work orders received during shift or carried over from earlier shifts.
- Read and follow maintenance manuals and troubleshooting guides; read blueprints, specifications, submittal data, and O&M data relevant to maintenance operations including electrical/electronic schematics.
- Determine ability to pass Healthcare Mechanic Certification exam via self-study and on-the-job training within 1 year of hire (2 years if no prior healthcare experience).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; related trade school or manufacturers training preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in plant and building maintenance or related trade required.
- Central plant operations experience preferred.
- Strong background in commercial HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry maintenance preferred.
Position is scheduled to work full-time with the following shift:
Sunday–Wednesday, 11:00 am – 9:30 pm.
