Senior Sales Representative
Knife River Mountain Region is seeking an experienced and results‑oriented Senior Sales Representative to support the growth of our ready‑mix concrete and aggregate operations in the Boise, Idaho market. This position plays a key role in developing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and supporting project teams throughout the construction lifecycle. The role offers opportunities for increased responsibility and future leadership advancement based on performance and business needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Establish, strengthen, and maintain relationships with contractors, developers, government agencies, and supply houses
- Manage inside and outside sales activities for ready‑mix concrete and aggregates; provide support for asphalt sales as assigned
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities; follow up on project leads and market intelligence
- Review plans and specifications; collaborate with Quality Control to determine appropriate mix designs
- Prepare accurate bids, quotes, and proposals using company software and established procedures
- Provide customer support throughout all phases of construction, from pre‑construction planning through project completion
- Monitor product quality and ensure customer satisfaction in coordination with internal teams
- Work closely with operations, dispatch, billing, and management to support pricing, scheduling, and delivery requirements
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, technical developments, and market conditions; participate in training and educational opportunities
- Travel within the region as required
- Demonstrate a consistent commitment to Knife River’s safety standards and policies
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in sales or business development
- Experience in construction materials (ready‑mix, aggregates, asphalt) required
- Technical sales experience preferred
- Strong communication, customer service, and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Proficiency with standard business software applications
