Part-Time Night Freight Handler (32-40 hours per week)
Mon - Fri: 5PM-1:30AM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Front End: Ensure all customers have an impeccable CHEF’STORE experience by developing and maximizing relationships with the store’s customers. Utilize all tools and skills learned in the CHEF’STORE Way training and model the behavior in the store.
- Front End (Sales and Checkout): Perform sales and cash functions in the POS in an efficient and accurate manner. This includes scanning merchandise with a handheld scan gun or keypad, weighing product on counter top scales as necessary, and looking up any product that will not scan. Ensure item barcodes are accurately reflected in the system and report discrepancies to the Front End Lead or MOD.
- Checkout Compliance: Perform cart-to-cart transfer of all products at checkout, including a visual inspection to look for product tampering. Serve as receipt checker by verifying cart contents vs. purchases as customers leave the store.
- Store Operations: Perform opening and/or closing duties at the front end based on assigned shift.
- Maintain focus on increasing sales and managing shrinkage. Help customers find products and inform them of other store services.
- Assist in receiving inventory shipments and maintain/stock shelves in a neat and orderly fashion, ensuring proper rotation and product quality audits. Report low stock levels to management.
- Ensure merchandise is properly labeled, including tagging unscannable items, applying catch weights to sold-by-weight items, and attaching plu tags to produce items.
- Replenish the sales floor daily by down-stocking freight from top stock. Follow FIFO; manage product availability and movement using appropriate equipment (e.g., reach trucks, pallet jacks).
- Utilize computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel, and proprietary software as needed.
- Maintain accessible, visually appealing, and consistently available products.
- Assist with price changes as directed by the Pricing Lead and Store Management.
- Assist in opening and closing duties of the store and participate in inventory and cycle counts as needed.
- Keep the facility safe and well-maintained by following safety policies; notify management of any safety issues and correct where possible.
- Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, front end, and restrooms; use cleaning equipment as needed.
- Keep parking lot and store entry area clean.
- Collect and return carts from the parking area and corrals; ensure carts are clean and operable.

- Retail store setting open to the public; exposure to outdoor weather conditions; typically moderate noise. Work may require ladder or elevated surfaces. Temperature varies from
-10 to 85 degrees. May require physical interaction with customers.
- Minimum 6-12 months retail cashier and/or stocking experience required.
- Minimum one year retail selling and/or customer service experience preferred.

Compensation information may vary by experience, education, region, and other factors. The expected base rate for this role is between $13.00/hr and $21.00/hr this role may include overtime compensation.
