Description

Provide direct customer service and support by selling merchandise on the sales floor and assisting in customer carry-outs, stocking, and restocking of merchandise. This position specializes in the areas of automotive, electrical, plumbing, housewares, power equipment, and agriculture; anything non-clothing related.

Essential Functions/Duties

• Sell merchandise and advise customers on merchandise price and features.
• Provide merchandise/product knowledge to customers and recommend alternative or accessory goods.
• Advise and assist customers in ordering specialized merchandise as needed.
• Provide assistance in receiving and displaying merchandise according to established policies and standards.
• Answer telephones and handle routine customer inquiries.
• Perform general floor maintenance and housekeeping; monitor and maintain the condition and safekeeping of merchandise.
• Participate in inventory cycle activities.
• Move materials using appropriate handling tools and equipment, including hand trucks, pallet jacks, dollies, and forklifts.
• Other duties as assigned by management related to customer service, merchandising, and product handling.

Requirements

Required Skills/Experience: Proven knowledge and experience with horses and tack. Knowledge of retail sales techniques. Ability to follow instructions, verify numbers, resolve customer issues, and work as part of a team. Exposure to visual merchandising is a plus.

Required Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.

Other Requirements: Ability to work standing for most of the shift, lift up to 75 pounds, and participate in resets, remodels, and reconstruction projects.
