Heartstrings Pet Hospice – In-Home Veterinarian (Boise)

We’re a veterinarian-owned hospice and euthanasia service based in Boise, helping pet families during one of life’s most challenging moments by providing compassionate care in the comfort of their own home.

Base pay: $70,000 - $90,000 per year. Actual compensation will depend on skills and experience.

This position offers a refreshing change from in-clinic practice, with generous appointment times and minimal administrative duties. As an In-Home Veterinarian, you will have the freedom of a mobile practice, average 3‑4 appointments per day, and flexibility to choose 2‑5 day‑per‑week work schedules (most appointments between 9 am and 5 pm).

• Provide in‑home euthanasia and hospice care for geriatric and terminally ill pets.
• Guide families in making end‑of‑life decisions for their pets.
• Build relationships with local veterinary clinics as an extension of their care.

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, BVMS).
• At least 1 year of experience as a practicing veterinarian.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 100 lbs. assisted.
• Able to perform physical tasks (walking, kneeling, bending, etc.) consistently during the workday.
• Comfortable with prolonged periods of driving.
• Manual dexterity and steady hand while using medical tools.
