- Post‑procedural cardiac experience (cath lab, ablations, open heart) is required.
- Must be able to read and interpret telemetry and document it appropriately.
- Experience in PCU and Step‑down units preferred.
- Read and manage telemetry strips 2 times per shift.
- Assist with respiratory equipment and high‑residual therapies as requested.
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS (preferred)
3rd Floor – Cardiac focus; post‑op procedures, early post‑op (open heart, TAVR, ablations, caths, pacemakers, medication telemetry).
7th Floor – General telemetry; post‑procedural overflow, CHF, sepsis, electrolyte imbalances, post‑stroke, and more.
Shift & Scheduling- Typical schedule:
7–7 block of nights, with a maximum of 5 consecutive shifts. - Weekend shifts: 5–6 nights in a 6‑week block (Sat/Sun nights, Fri/Sat nights).
- Holidays: may be required on occasion; not every holiday.
- Floating: first to float to any MS, MS‑Telemetry, or Tele unit within the hospital or sister facilities (Meridian & Nampa).
- Charge nurse on each unit; crisis & resource nurse available in‑house.
- CNAs: 3 on 3rd floor, 5 on 7th floor. Typical ratios 1:8 depending on census.
- Respiratory therapy (Vent, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow) available; RNs may assist.
- Telemetry tech: remote, located on 3rd floor; RN expected to read telemetry 2x per shift.
