Overview

Position Overview:

As a Quality Program Coordinator for Surgical Services, you will be responsible for analyzing clinical charts and collecting benchmarked and risk-adjusted data related to surgical outcomes. Your role will focus on identifying opportunities for improvement by conducting literature reviews on evidence-based practices and spearheading quality improvement initiatives. Collaborating closely with Surgeon Champions and leadership on NSQIP data and opportunities, you will play a key role in educating teams and promoting the sustainability of positive clinical outcomes.

Position Type:
Full-Time, Exempt/Salaried

Work Arrangement:
Must reside or willing to relocate to Idaho or Eastern OR. Remote/Hybrid that includes occasional in-office meetings and travel within in the Treasure Valley (Boise, Meridian, Nampa)

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, typically 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM;
No weekends or holidays

Participates in discovery and contributes to the prioritization of local and system projects. Accepts assignments based on organization and department need. Manages program database in collaboration with physician representative. Participate in process improvement activities within national collaboratives. Responsible for the daily operations and decision making that supports a specific program or initiative. Collects timely and accurate surgical data components for the program’s database.

Exhibits a proficient understanding of improvement science. Applies tools, techniques, and analyses to complex issues and problems. Facilitates or may lead performance improvement activities with multiple leaders, physicians, service lines, or relevant stakeholders through the PI process in accordance with system standards for execution and documentation. Escalates more complex issues. Engages with local or system leadership, physicians, service lines, and other relevant stakeholders for purposes of quality/process improvement, advancing program effectiveness, and management of change.

Participates in data compilation and analysis for program health and project initiatives in multiple surgical specialties. Facilitate the coordinating case presentations for providers or in department initiatives. Maintain continuing education in surgical quality.

Qualifications

Surgical Quality Program Coordinator 1 Requirements

  • Education:

    BSN
  • Experience:

    2 years' experience, surgical experience strongly preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications:

    Current RN license in state of practice AND Surgical Clinical Reviewer Certification by the American College of Surgeons or obtain within 30 days of hire

Surgical Quality Program Coordinator 2 Requirements

  • Education:

    BSN
  • Experience:

    4 years' experience, surgical experience strongly preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications:

    Current RN license in state of practice AND Surgical Clinical Reviewer Certification by the American College of Surgeons (obtain within 30 days of hire) AND Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification
