Night Shift, 2/12‑hour shifts 19:00-07:30
Provides professional nursing care in collaboration with members of the health‑care team during ongoing assessment, planning and treatment of patients and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote physical, spiritual, and emotional well‑being of patients during 12‑hour shifts.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing services and serve as patient advocate.
- Work in a broad range of capacities, including delegation, assessment, planning of care and treatment, and teaching of patients and families.
- Exercise competency in judgment, decision‑making, implementation of nursing interventions, delegation of function or responsibility, and administration of medications and treatments prescribed by legally authorized persons.
Skills, Knowledge, Education and Experience
- A current RN license is required.
- Multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days from hire.
- At hire, Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required. (ACLS and/or PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS).
- ACLS within 6 months, PALS within 12 months of hire.
Essential Functions
- Integrate the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values into behavior, practice, and decision‑making.
- Cater to all assigned age groups (neonate, child, adolescent, adult, geriatric as applicable).
- Ensure accurate documentation of services & supplies for revenue management.
- Comply with hospital safety policies and procedures.
- Perform and document comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments.
- Educate patients based on assessment of needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate plan of care based on patient needs.
- Communicate patient status and plan of care to other caregivers verbally and in writing.
- Prepare, administer, and evaluate effectiveness of medications.
- Operate patient‑care equipment safely and advocate for patient rights.
- Reduce or alleviate patient pain.
- Practice therapeutic communication and establish professional boundaries.
- Integrate knowledge, experience, professional standards, and hospital policies into nursing practice.
- Meet unit‑specific technical skills and Idaho State Board of Nursing regulations.
