Shift
Night Shift, 2/12‑hour shifts 19:00-07:30

Provides professional nursing care in collaboration with members of the health‑care team during ongoing assessment, planning and treatment of patients and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote physical, spiritual, and emotional well‑being of patients during 12‑hour shifts.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing services and serve as patient advocate.
• Work in a broad range of capacities, including delegation, assessment, planning of care and treatment, and teaching of patients and families.
• Exercise competency in judgment, decision‑making, implementation of nursing interventions, delegation of function or responsibility, and administration of medications and treatments prescribed by legally authorized persons.

Skills, Knowledge, Education and Experience

• A current RN license is required.
• Multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days from hire.
• At hire, Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required. (ACLS and/or PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS).
• ACLS within 6 months, PALS within 12 months of hire.

Essential Functions

• Integrate the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values into behavior, practice, and decision‑making.
• Cater to all assigned age groups (neonate, child, adolescent, adult, geriatric as applicable).
• Ensure accurate documentation of services & supplies for revenue management.
• Comply with hospital safety policies and procedures.
• Perform and document comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments.
• Educate patients based on assessment of needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate plan of care based on patient needs.
• Communicate patient status and plan of care to other caregivers verbally and in writing.
• Prepare, administer, and evaluate effectiveness of medications.
• Operate patient‑care equipment safely and advocate for patient rights.
• Reduce or alleviate patient pain.
• Practice therapeutic communication and establish professional boundaries.
• Integrate knowledge, experience, professional standards, and hospital policies into nursing practice.
• Meet unit‑specific technical skills and Idaho State Board of Nursing regulations.
