Job Summary
We are seeking a per diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support medical and safety efforts at a large‑scale construction site in Boise, project is expected to last multiple years with exact timing to be determined by client requirements. The role will provide health care services to patients and support medical and safety efforts on-site. It may transition to a part‑time position in the future.
Responsibilities- Provide first‑aid, medical treatment, and appropriate follow‑up to occupationally ill/injured workers in accordance with Workers’ Compensation standards and laws.
- Deliver first‑aid or minimal incidental care for non‑occupational conditions, following employer on‑site clinic standards and relevant laws.
- Conduct regulatory testing, TB tests, immunizations, blood draws, and drug testing when required.
- Perform wellness activities such as flu shots, health education, and coaching as requested.
- Administer employee medical surveillance examinations (new hire, fit‑for‑ding, return‑to‑work, exit exams).
- Provide return‑to‑work clearances and conduct effective case management follow‑up for injuries/illnesses and absences.
- Offer counseling to employees on employment risk reduction initiatives as needed.
- Maintain frequent communication with the Medical Director and Work Care Supervisor regarding clinic issues and client requests.
- Manage employee health records, maintain databases, and perform computer data entry of demographic and health information.
- Handle and safeguard Protected Health Information in compliance with HIPAA laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with client management, medical and safety personnel, co‑workers, and Work Care supervisors and managers.
- Communicate with client management frequently and provide timely, accurate reporting as required by client, Work Care, and law.
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Idaho with national certification applicable to the state.
- Unrestricted DEA license.
- Current ACLS/BLS certifications.
- Minimum of 3 years of advanced practice experience, preferably in occupational medicine.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to make independent decisions in accordance with company policy and procedures.
- Initiative in handling daily issues.
- Skill in managing multiple priorities.
- Professional approach in high‑pressure, multitasking, or project‑support environments.
- Competence in Windows OS, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), and ability to learn additional software such as SAP or Cority as needed.
- Sitting for long periods at a desk.
- Some bending and stretching required.
- Ability to work under stress and use of computer/phone required.
- Manual dexterity for computer keyboard use.
- Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching may be required.
- May lift or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Daily walk to/from parking lot to clinic.
- May drive emergency vehicle within the site when responding to an incident.
- Indoor office environment, moderate noise level.
- Good air quality and controlled temperature.
- Clinic located within a protected/regulated area.
Final compensation will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.
