Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a 650+ provider multispecialty group practice seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to manage orthopedic trauma patients in collaboration with the orthopedic trauma surgeon(s).
The position includes direct clinical management through utilization of approved protocols and procedures, as well as appropriate medical consultation. The APP will work closely with the Orthopedic Trauma Medical Director and other members of the trauma service to evaluate new trauma patients in the Emergency Room, provide direction to hospital personnel regarding patient management issues, and manage inpatient orthopedic fracture patients.
This individual will also work in the operating room and outpatient clinic settings. The schedule consists of a full-time rotation of responsibilities including clinic, operating room, inpatient rounding, and PA call coverage. The PA team consists of seven (7) providers. Coverage of group call as needed, including nights and weekends.
The qualified PA-C will demonstrate comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care. Candidates must hold a valid controlled substance registration with both the Idaho Board of Pharmacy and the DEA, and should have past surgical and/or critical care experience in a hospital-based setting.
Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) is the primary provider of advanced, innovative, and interdisciplinary trauma and critical care services. It is an ACS-verified Level II Trauma Center with annual trauma volumes exceeding 1,250, including over 400 patients with an ISS > 16. Trauma cases are predominantly blunt in nature. Trauma surgeons participate in a primary and backup call panel arrangement.
Requirements:
- Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner medical license in Idaho
- Valid controlled substance registration with Idaho
- Board of Pharmacy and DEA registration
