We have an immediate opening for a Site Supervisor / Plant Operator that is responsible for our Boise, Idaho, Onsite Facility. You will have primary responsibility for three cryogenic Air Separation Units as well as a liquid hydrogen system. Air Products pioneered the “on‑site” concept of producing and selling industrial gases in 1940. - Management of the site’s Basic Safety Process and Process Safety Management with a focus on the company’s efforts to drive to a goal of 0 injuries.
- Ensuring Environmental compliance in accordance with Air Products Corporate and Governmental Regulations.
- Understanding safe operating, design, and permit limits.
- Supporting all aspects of the day‑to‑day operations to include troubleshooting plant process problems, supervising daily plant activities, and managing plant projects.
- Identifying maintenance concerns; then developing and implementing corrective measures with the maintenance team as well as carrying out site preventive maintenance and mechanical integrity programs.
- Implementing and sharing best practices.
- Investigating incidents and near misses which includes understanding and correcting the root cause of failures.
- Strong operating experience in similar plants or operations of similar complexity with a talent for effectively identifying and troubleshooting problems.
- A track record of success in EH&S and Quality.
- A self‑starter with confirmed leadership abilities – Self‑led and highly motivated to plan and ensure the completed execution of all tasks required by our safety, environmental and engineering standards.
- The ability to understand the broader picture and consider the implications of decisions.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong administrative/computer skills.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- 5+ years of relevant operations/maintenance experience in an industrial plant is preferred.
- A degree in a technical field is a plus but not required. Applicable experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
- Must be able to climb ladders and steps and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to meet call‑in requirements as needed.
- Some elevated work required.
- Flexible work schedules with the ability to work some days from home are available, but you will be expected to work on‑site at the plant as needed for plant support.
- Although this is a 24/7 on‑call role, most weeks will have regular working hours and there is backup support and rotation of on call responsibilities with another employee.
- This is a full‑time, direct hire, exempt salaried position with opportunities for career advancement and expanded leadership responsibilities.
