Job Description

As a Fire Apparatus Paint Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Mixing and applying body filler
  • Sanding with both longboards and mud-hog sanders
  • Finish sanding primer and caulking seems
  • Grinding
  • Acid washing
  • Prepping for paint process
  • Performing Automotive quality paint application
  • Performing cut & buff work as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Understanding of bodywork principles
  • Experience with body filler
  • Experience with block sand
  • Experience with air tools
  • Experience in automotive customization or collision repair work
  • Experience with hand and power tools
  • Great attitude and high expectations for the quality of your work.
  • Knowledge of body shop materials
  • Physically fit – ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, kneel and climb ladders.
Bonus Points
  • Associates Degree in Auto Body repair or related area
  • Four years or more years of experience with automotive painting
  • Experience with color sanding and buffing
  • Automotive customization or collision repair work
  • Tools and a roll around tool box
