** This is a key intermediate level position within our manufacturing facility which produces quality food products for our customers. The Ammonia Refrigeration/Maintenance Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of ammonia refrigeration and HVAC utility equipment/systems, along with conduct machine set up, troubleshoot equipment failures, and perform repair and prevent maintenance services ensuring that all safety procedures are being followed.
Must be flexible for overtime and weekend work.

Job Requirements:

**** Education/Certifications and

Experience:

*** High school diploma, GED, or technical school education.
* Five years related experience in industrial manufacturing environment in a Maintenance Position, preferably in an automated food processing plant.
* RETA CARO certification required – Ammonia Operator I, II, III
** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
*** Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
* Mathematical

Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
* Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carryout instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively train others.
* Must be able to read work documents in English.
* Good understanding of plant quality requirements
* Good working knowledge of GMP’s
* Good attendance and work history

** Working Conditions and Physical Effort****:
*** Work involves daily and frequent exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness and/or poor lighting, noise, and vibration. Seasonal exposure to weather elements to include, but not limited to, extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity.
* Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks and hazards, such as working around mechanical equipment, mechanical hazards, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, communicable diseases.
* Position requires the ability to stand; walking around office, warehouse, and plant; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; and reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting on a daily basis. Also requires the ability to see; hear; and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette.
* Bump caps, safety glasses, goggles, gloves, ear plugs, lockout devices, fall protection and any other personal protective equipment, as defined by C.H. Guenther and Son will be provided.
* Work involves frequent exposure to time pressures, frequent change of tasks, performing multiple tasks simultaneously, tedious, and exacting work, irregular work schedule and/ or overtime, noisy and/or distracting environment, working closely with others as part of a team, and on rare occasion’s emergency situations.
