Apprentice – DIFI Process Technician

Micron Technology’s Registered Apprenticeship Program offers a Fab Manufacturing Technician (MT) Apprentice role in Boise, Idaho, where you will learn how to sustain and improve cycle time by facilitating product movement in our world‑class Technology Development Fab. The program combines on‑the‑job training with coursework leading to a Department of Labor and industry recognized credential.

Responsibilities
  • Work with production and engineering teams, assisting in monitoring tool performance, scheduling product, and responding to area inefficiencies (e.g., lot tracking, data download, tool lockups).
  • Adhere to apprenticeship guidelines, protocols, and instructions from the program manager.
  • Complete required safety training and conduct all work in accordance with safety policies.
  • Partner with other MTs and engineering teams to prioritize daily tasks and monitor key bottlenecks and workstations throughout the shift.
  • Identify and report area issues affecting fab performance to management and key partners, assisting with resolution.
  • Focus on improving Remote Operations Center (ROC) monitoring tools, contributing to continuous improvement and problem‑solving efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Willingness and ability to enroll in College of Western Idaho’s Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology Basic Technical Certificate or AAS Degree (no prior coursework required; math level requirement applies).
  • Basic to intermediate PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, One Note, PowerPoint, Teams) and Zoom for virtual meetings.
  • Solid time‑management and prioritization skills.
  • Reliable communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of semiconductor production operations concepts.
  • Ability to troubleshoot intermediate problems and identify root causes.
  • Ability to multi‑task and thrive in a fast‑paced team environment.
  • Flexibility to work any shift, including nights, rotating shifts, and support class schedules as needed.
