JOB DESCRIPTION
The Tool Crib Attendant III is responsible for efficiently managing and issuing tools, equipment, and supplies to manufacturing and maintenance personnel. This role involves maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring all tools and equipment are in optimal working condition, and providing essential support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the tool crib area. A typical day involves handling requests, tracking inventory, and performing minor equipment maintenance.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Manage the issuance and return of tools, equipment, and supplies, including accurate record-keeping in the inventory management system and verifying order fulfillment.
- Inspect tools and equipment for damage upon return and report any issues to the supervisor, including returned safety equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for the tool crib, conducting regular counts, reconciling discrepancies, and managing stock levels (max/min).
- Assist in ordering and receiving new tools and supplies from vendors to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Oversee tool and equipment maintenance, including regular inspections, performing basic repairs, and coordinating major servicing with the maintenance team.
- Gather and send tools for external tool repair programs, utilizing vendors whenever possible.
- Keep the tool crib clean, organized, and safe, ensuring all tools and equipment are labeled and stored in designated locations.
- Ensure full compliance with all safety and security protocols within the tool crib area.
- Coordinate deliveries and pickups with field personnel, including checking the completion of loading and unloading of trucks/trailers.
- Update and maintain all necessary tracking, calendars, files, data entry, and timesheets related to tool crib operations.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of tools and equipment.
- Proficient in using inventory management systems and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items as needed.
- Required:
High School diploma or equivalent. - Required:
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a tool crib, warehouse, or inventory management role. - Desired:
Certification in inventory management or related field.
