Overview

A Senior Middleware Developer designs, develops, and maintains the software infrastructure that enables seamless communication and data flow between different applications and systems. Key responsibilities include installing and configuring middleware, developing integration solutions, troubleshooting issues, implementing security, and creating technical documentation. The role requires strong problem‑solving, communication skills, and expertise in middleware technologies, scripting, and system monitoring to ensure reliable and scalable IT ecosystems.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Design and develop technical solutions for integration, connectivity, performance, and security.
  • Build and maintain integrations between various applications, systems, and databases.
  • Install, configure, update, and maintain middleware software and resolve production issues.
  • Monitor system performance, conduct troubleshooting, and optimize middleware for efficiency and reliability.
  • Implement security measures and ensure compliance with governance policies for APIs and integrations.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for designs, configurations, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT, business teams, and vendors to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Mentor and train new developers on in-house languages, tools, and environments.
Requirements Education / Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent academic achievement or experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience with middleware development.
  • Previous working experience with middleware technologies (Go Anywhere, Mulesoft, etc.) and architectures (MFT, MQ, Rest API, Apache Kafka).
  • Proficiency in operating systems (Linux, Windows, IBM i) and scripting languages (Python, Shell).
  • Knowledge of data transformation technologies.
  • Experience with system monitoring, performance tuning, and API lifecycle management.
  • Understanding of distributed computing concepts.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Dev Ops practices and tools.
  • Experience with data integration and data orchestration tools and related best practices.
  • Experience with service‑oriented architectures.
  • Knowledge of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
