We are looking for a proactive, entrepreneurial, and experienced product counsel to join our product legal team. In this role, you will work closely with our Developer division, collaborating with product managers, engineers, UI/UX teams, and specialists from various legal disciplines, including privacy, regulatory, and compliance. You'll take a leadership role in delivering legal guidance throughout the product development journey.

• Contribute to our high‑caliber crypto product legal team, integrated with the Developer division.
• Collaborate effectively with product teams, providing legal, business, and strategic advice, while anticipating challenges and crafting creative solutions.
• Offer comprehensive legal guidance throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring compliance and innovation at every stage.
• Ensure adherence to global legal standards, addressing U.S. and international considerations.
• Collaborate with the broader Coinbase legal team and external counsel to resolve complex issues beyond your expertise.
• Engage proactively with departments like Compliance, Communications, Finance, Security, and Data Analytics to foster effective partnerships.
• Respond promptly to legal inquiries and work closely with your colleagues to deliver thoughtful and practical legal advice.
• Own the legal aspects of your designated products by engaging with teams, gathering necessary information, and delivering high‑quality legal counsel.

• Active license in a U.S. state with a J.D. or equivalent, alongside over 7 years of legal experience, preferably in‑house with consumer technology, fintech, or crypto/blockchain enterprises.
• Proven expertise in advising product teams on the launch of technology products, with a robust understanding of applicable legal frameworks.
• A genuine interest in digital currencies, blockchain technologies, and the emerging paradigms in decentralized applications, web3, and DeFi.
• Knowledge of key global regulations and agencies impacting payments, financial services, internet technology, and cryptocurrencies, including money transmission laws, NYDFS Bitlicense, banking regulations, and securities regulations.
• Outstanding problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional legal judgment and analytical rigor, demonstrating a practical approach to risk and innovation.
