The Womens Service Ambulatory Medical Director provides strategic and clinical leadership for the Boise and Nampa OB/GYN clinics within St Alphonsus with role expansion as outreach clinics are created and stabilized. This role ensures high-quality, patient-centered care while driving operational efficiency, clinical excellence, and alignment with organizational goals. The director collaborates with clinical and administrative leaders to optimize care delivery, improve patient outcomes, and support provider engagement.

This role will report to the Medical Director, Womens Health Service Line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Leadership:
    • Serve as the physician lead for OB/GYN services across all ambulatory clinics.
    • Oversee clinical quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
    • Ensure adherence to evidence-based guidelines and best practices.
  • Operational Oversight:
    • Collaborate with clinic managers and executive leadership to streamline workflows and improve access to care.
    • Monitor and manage clinic performance metrics, including patient satisfaction, wait times, access, and provider productivity.
    • Monitor provider schedules to ensure adequate coverage for patient care.
    • Coordinate with clinic managers to align provider availability with patient demand.
    • Approve PTO (Paid Time Off) to avoid gaps in coverage
    • Monitor and manage surgery volumes and quality
    • Support integration of new technologies and EMR optimization, including DAX.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • In coordination with the Womens Health Service Line Medical Director and Regional Strategy Director, develop and implement strategic plans to expand and enhance OB/GYN services.
    • Participate in budget planning, resource allocation, and service line growth initiatives as appropriate.
  • Provider Engagement & Development:
    • Mentor and support OB/GYN providers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
    • Participate in recruitment, and onboarding
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration:
    • Partner with departments such as Nursing, Pharmacy, IT, and Finance to ensure coordinated care delivery.
    • Represent OB/GYN services in leadership meetings and cross-functional initiatives.
