Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the pharmacy licensing team, ensuring efficient workflows, accurate process documentation, and balanced workloads.
  • Monitor team performance against established goals and maintain compliance by ensuring accurate information is communicated to state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Design and oversee processes for maintaining pharmacy facility data as the single source of truth for organization, including legal entity details, DBA names, addresses, and current PIC information, and share updates with relevant departments (e.g., demographic, contracting, credentialing, accreditation).
  • Manage the pharmacy personnel license monitoring program, including vendor oversight, creating guidance materials, recommending process improvements, tracking license expirations, and addressing deficiencies promptly.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with Boards of Pharmacy (BOP) and the DEA for all licensing-related matters.
  • Advise business development, acquisition teams, senior pharmacy leadership, and operations on licensing requirements for ownership changes, tax restructuring, new or closing pharmacies, new business models (e.g., mini fulfillment centers), and other changes impacting licensing.
  • Oversee Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) and Power of Attorney (POA) processes, including centralization efforts to ensure consistency across the organization, and coach team members to maintain timely and accurate communication with store teams.
  • Lead and coordinate pharmacy accreditation programs, acting as the primary liaison with accrediting organizations and overseeing all company efforts related to obtaining new accreditations, managing renewals, and ensuring ongoing compliance with monitoring requirements.
  • Stay current on pharmacy licensing laws, regulations, and policies, ensuring compliance and proactive adaptation to changes.
Required
  • 1-3 years supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels and with external partners.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to shared goals.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate complex licensing requirements and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred
  • Previous experience with pharmacy facility licensing and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal pharmacy licensing regulations.
