Position: THCE Imaging Equipment Specialist I

Overview

Description:

Working within assigned areas, performs on-going Planned Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) of diagnostic and therapeutic imaging equipment used throughout the healthcare facility. Assists in the planning and installation of diagnostic and therapeutic imaging equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform on-going Planned Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) of diagnostic and therapeutic imaging equipment in assigned areas.
  • Assist in planning and installation of diagnostic and therapeutic imaging equipment.
  • Meet target objectives and standards for timeliness and quality of PM schedules and repairs of assigned clinical equipment.
  • Assume responsibility for PM and repair of clinical equipment as assigned by the Clinical Engineering (CE) Manager; resolve sensitive or complex problems with supervision.
  • Order parts and supplies, within established departmental guidelines, that are required for the emergency service and repair of radiological and general medical equipment; make recommendations regarding imaging test equipment and spare parts to the CE Manager.
  • Coordinate repairs with vendors and users when needed, including follow-up paperwork and verification that issues are resolved.
  • Attend training sessions on equipment maintenance to stay up-to-date on technological and medical equipment advances; conduct in-service or coordinate training to radiology clinical/professional staff on proper use and safety of radiology equipment; provide assistance and training to Biomedical Equipment Technicians I and II as assigned.
  • Provide on-call service coverage after normal business hours on a rotating basis, as assigned.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction as demonstrated by results of customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Participate in teamwork by keeping others informed, initiating group decision-making, working to accomplish team objectives, and seeking feedback about effectiveness as a team member.
  • Assume minor extra duties, including work normally assigned to Biomedical Equipment Technicians.
  • May perform duties as Lead Biomedical Equipment Technician or other duties as assigned or required by the CE Manager.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge, understanding and application of applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and industry standards; maintains working knowledge of these requirements.
  • Compliance with Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, and other policies and procedures to ensure ethical and professional integrity.
  • Demonstrates the mission, vision and core values in leadership behaviors, practices and decisions.
  • Ability to work with supervision to resolve sensitive or complex problems; plan and execute maintenance and repair activities.
  • Orders, tracks and manages parts and supplies for maintenance and repair needs; coordinates with CE Manager on equipment recommendations.
  • Good communication and coordination with vendors, users and clinical staff; conducts training when needed.
  • Willingness to attend training and provide training to staff as assigned; participates in continuous improvement and professional development.
  • On-call availability and flexibility to provide coverage after normal business hours as required.
