Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused individual to join our team as an Integrative Medical Receptionist. As a receptionist in our integrative medical practice, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to our patients and healthcare providers.
Responsibilities- Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and guests in a warm and professional manner.
- Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and maintain accurate patient records using our electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about our services, practitioners, and clinic policies.
- Coordinate patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accurate and up-to-date insurance and demographic information.
- Collect and process payments, handle billing inquiries, and maintain financial records.
- Assist with insurance verification and pre-authorization processes.
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers and schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area, waiting room, and front desk.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient clinic operations.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
- Proven experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and scheduling software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients, staff, and external contacts in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office Suite.
- Knowledge of integrative medicine concepts and terminology is desirable.
- Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment and handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends, as needed.
- Able to accept and process cash transactions from patients.
