SummaryThe Community & Business Banker delivers personalized client service by holding financial conversations with clients and prospects to determine needs and provide appropriate solutions. This position will be responsible for maintaining client relationships, with an emphasis on First Interstate Bank's Service Commitments and in accordance with our vision and values.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Delivers personalized client service in person and over the phone by answering client questions, assisting with issues, and offering solutions.
- Opens and maintains a variety of products, including consumer and business checking and savings accounts, Individual Retirement Accounts, Certificates of Deposit, consumer and small business credit cards, and is proficient in originating all types of personal loans.
- Processes new consumer and new small business loan requests.
- Holds financial conversations with clients and prospects to determine needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Identifies referral opportunities to other lines of business—including, but not limited to, Home Loans, Treasury Solutions, Merchant Services, Business Banking, and Wealth Management—fully embracing and utilizing 360 View to document referrals and other client activity.
- Builds client relationships through outbound engagement and proactive measures.
- Performs Teller duties as needed, conducting a variety of financial transactions such as check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, processing loan payments, and accurately counting currency and coin.
- Completes work accurately with minimal errors.
- Participates in volunteer activities and financial education efforts.
- Stays current on regulatory changes and demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations, policies, and procedures related to assigned job functions, applying standards appropriately; knowledge may be gained through coursework and on‑the‑job training.

- Able to compute rates and percentages and draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Able to apply common‑sense understanding to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
- Able to solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Demonstrates timely completion of work and adjusts to workload demands to meet expected deadlines.
- Produces complete and accurate work, displaying pride and professionalism in all tasks.

- This position requires compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations. Employment is contingent upon meeting these requirements, including acceptable background investigation results.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
- Associate's Degree preferred
- 1-3 years banking or related experience required
