Lana Funkhouser with Robert Half is looking for a dedicated Controller to oversee and enhance financial operations for our organization in Boise, Idaho. This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving process improvements to support organizational growth. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting systems and strong leadership skills to manage a dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly and annual financial close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger across diverse business units and programs.
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and cash management functions.
- Manage daily cash positions, banking operations, and disbursement schedules while upholding robust internal controls.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including dashboards, variance analyses, and board-level statements.
- Collaborate on forecasting, budgeting, and multi-year financial modeling to inform strategic decisions.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are preferred.
- At least five years of progressive accounting leadership experience, with a minimum of three years in supervisory roles.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit and fund accounting, including GAAP and FASB standards.
- Prior experience in a nonprofit environment is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in banking systems, cash management, and financial operations.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to foster positive communication within teams.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Expertise in accounting processes such as month-end close, grant accounting, and financial statement preparation.
