Financial Reporting, Accounting Manager
The Treasure Valley Family YMCA is seeking a qualified Controller to join our team! This position is responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and transparency of the Treasure Valley Family YMCA’s accounting operations. This role provides leadership over accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, accounting systems, and financial audit processes.

Responsibilities Financial Operations & Close- Lead monthly and annual close processes ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
- Maintain general ledger integrity across multiple business units, programs, and locations.
- Oversee AP, AR, fixed assets, child development accounting, and cash management.
- Manage daily cash positions, banking operations, transfers, and disbursement timing, while maintaining strong internal controls.
- Prepare monthly board-ready financial statements, dashboards, and variance analyses.
- Partner with CFO on forecasting, budget development, and 3-year financial modeling.
- Manage annual financial audit, single audit (if applicable), and Form 990 preparation.
- Design, document, and maintain strong internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, FASB nonprofit standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for accounting systems, tools, and architecture (including ERP implementation).
- Drive automation and standardization of accounting processes to improve efficiency.
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business or finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience of progressive accounting leadership experience.
- Minimum of three years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of non-profit and fund accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience in a nonprofit environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of banks, banking systems and cash management.
- Excellent human relations skills and an ability to maintain position communication with staff and members.
- Ability to address and make solid decision in emergency situations.
