Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for originating quality residential mortgage loans while promoting responsible lending opportunities in alignment with NWB’s mission. The Loan Officer guides borrowers through every step of the mortgage process, ensuring compliance with lending regulations, fostering community partnerships, and supporting long-term home ownership success through education and outreach.

What You’ll Do
  • Guide borrowers through the mortgage process from application to closing
  • Assess borrower needs and recommend appropriate loan products
  • Collect and review borrower documentation for accuracy
  • Educate clients on loan options and home ownership basics
  • Build relationships with real estate agents and community partners
  • Promote NWB loan programs and represent us at community events
  • Ensure loan files meet all federal, state, and investor requirements
  • Maintain accurate loan files and pipeline tracking in Encompass LOS

What You Bring
  • Active NMLS and Idaho Mortgage Loan Originator License strongly preferred; candidate without an active license must be able to obtain licensure within 60 days of hire
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills
  • Working knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and affordable housing programs
  • Experience with Encompass LOS and Microsoft Office
  • Spanish bilingual is a plus, not required
