THIS POSITION IS BASED IN COLORADO
Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated Field Engineer to join our heavy civil team. This position supports project management and field operations through accurate documentation, technical coordination, and quality control. The Field Engineer will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within specifications.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with project layout, surveying, and daily quantity tracking
- Interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings to support field crews
- Monitor and document daily work activities, materials, and production quantities
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors to maintain project schedule and quality
- Support the development of work plans, lift drawings, and field engineering calculations
- Verify field measurements and assist with pay applications and change order documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations at all times
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
- 1–3 years of experience in heavy civil construction (internships or co‑ops considered)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office; familiarity with GPS and survey equipment a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work outdoors and travel to project sites as needed
