Job Description:Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a Surveyor Technician to join our Corporate Services & Communications team. Whatdoes a Surveyor Technician do for us?
As part of the land survey function under the supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor, this individual provides company-wide survey support on linear projects (transmission and distribution) and site projects (generation, substations, and facilities). They perform office support tasks including research, post‑processing of survey data, and drafting. Additionally, they also perform field work as part of a two‑person field crew or independently, operating GNSS and traditional survey equipment.

A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE Knowledge of:- Civil drafting principles
- Survey field support practices
- Legal Principles in Surveying
- State Plane, UTM, and Geographic Coordinate system transformations
- Electric utility line design, construction, and mapping techniques
- Legal descriptions and easements
- AutoCAD or Autodesk Map software
- Personal computer use and maintenance
- Microsoft Windows applications
- Highly skilled in file management
- Effective oral and written communication
- Strong customer service skills
- Land survey instruments and GPS technologies
- Algebra and trigonometry
