—a professional with the technical gravity to lead complex environmental projects and the social intelligence to advocate for the municipalities of the Rocky Mountain region. Secondary location:
Spokane, WA
As a Senior Engineer, you are the technical linchpin. You will guide landfills, recycling facilities, and transfer stations from initial funding and environmental assessment through to final construction oversight. You will leverage AutoCAD Civil 3D to design grading, drainage, and utility layouts that don't just meet code—they solve real-world community challenges.
The Qualifications (The Standard of Excellence):- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field required;
Master’s degree is a plus. - Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive civil engineering experience.
- Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Idaho or Washington (or the ability to obtain via comity within 6 months).
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage projects, including scope, schedule, and budget oversight.
- Technical Depth: Strong understanding of engineering principles with the ability to apply them effectively to real-world challenges; proficiency in solid waste engineering design (
AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred). - Client Relations: Demonstrated experience working with municipalities or public entities regarding solid waste infrastructure and environmental compliance.
- Communication: Elite verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports, present findings, and engage with clients.
- Independence: Capable of working both independently and collaboratively, with a commitment to mentoring and supporting team development.
- Requirements: A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required for field-based project stewardship.
- Specific experience with solid waste, landfill, or environmental systems
. - Direct experience working with municipal or public-sector clients.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Idaho or Washington.
- Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
