We collaborate cross-functionally with Technology Development (TD), Global Procurement, Operations, and HVM fabs to drive quality excellence across the semiconductor supply chain.

Position Overview

This position will act as a primary liaison for our U.S. fabs, supporting material categories through both the Technology Development phase and High-Volume Manufacturing (HVM) in Categories Wetchem & CMP. You will be responsible for defining strategies, implementing quality initiatives, and advancing supplier quality development using Shift Left strategies. The role demands strong cross-functional collaboration, technical risk assessment, and strategic leadership to ensure supplier compliance, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement in material quality and performance.

Responsibilities
  • Technology Development Phase:
    • Collaborate with TD teams on FOAK materials quality readiness, supplier quality programs, and specification definition to support new technology node development.
    • Participate in FOAK materials sourcing strategies, including business continuity, benchmarking, new market evaluations, and quality capability assessments.
    • Support cross-fab technology transfer activities and drive supplier quality programs for new, unique, different, and difficult materials.
    • Lead Category Strategy Team meetings to cascade lessons learned from HVM to R&D and align on FOAK strategy.
  • HVM Phase:
    • Sourcing, Selection and Qualification Phase:
      • Lead quality risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies during sourcing, selection, and qualification phases.
      • Conduct technical risk audits for new suppliers and materials to evaluate HVM readiness.
      • Provide quality-focused input on global sourcing and segmentation strategies, including RFQ/RFI processes and cost‑saving initiatives.
      • Establish and enforce compliance with Micron’s Supplier Requirements Standards (SRS).
    • Supplier Development & Excursion Management:
      • Define and align global material specifications and support Category Quality Strategy development.
      • Implement quality programs, conduct benchmarking, and facilitate regular Quality and Technical Review (QTR) meetings.
      • Manage supplier and sub‑supplier changes through SCM and oversee resolution of global photochemical quality issues.
      • Collaborate with OCT, Operations, and Facilities to conduct root cause investigations and implement CAPAs.
      • Cascade lessons learned to R&D and HVM fabs to ensure closed‑loop communication and global issue prevention.
    • Communication & Presentation:
      • Provide timely updates on supplier‑related activities and maintain transparent communication with Global Quality, Procurement, OCT, and other teams.
      • Adjust communication cadence based on issue urgency and priority.
    • Training & Development:
      • Take ownership of goals and action items, establish measurable development objectives, and leverage coaching for career growth.
      • Demonstrate initiative, accuracy, and timeliness in all assignments while continuously reflecting on performance for improvement.
    • Growth Opportunity:
      • Collaborate with global SQEs and cross‑regional teams on category initiatives.
      • Serve as a subject matter expert in supplier digitalization programs.
      • Build deep expertise in material criticality for semiconductor manufacturing.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field.
  • 5–10+ years of experience in supplier quality, materials engineering, or semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting supplier audits, risk assessments, and implementing corrective/preventive actions.
  • Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), DOE, and quality systems such as ISO standards.
  • Strong communication and project management skills with experience leading cross‑functional teams.
