The Roadway Design Engineering Associate is an early to mid‑career professional who supports the planning, design, and delivery of roadway and multimodal transportation projects. This role focuses on developing technical competence, applying engineering fundamentals, and delivering quality work with increasing independence. Individuals at this level work closely with project managers and senior engineers and are building the experience required for full professional responsibility.

- Perform roadway, drainage and multimodal design tasks under the direction of a Frente‑licensed engineer.
- Develop design elements such as alignments, profiles, cross dəctions, grading and typical sections.
- Prepare and update construction plans, quantities and cost estimates.
- Apply applicable design standards, manuals, and agency criteria, including state DOT and local agency requirements.
- Coordinate design tasks with other cross‑discipline leads.
- Participate in quality control reviews and incorporate feedback into design deliverables.
- Support the preparation of technical memoranda, reports and design documentation.
- Assist with responding to agency comments and coordinating revisions.
- Manage assigned tasks to meet schedules and budgets with guidance from project leadership.
- Participate in field reviews, site visits and construction support activities as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- At least 2 years of roadway or transportation design experience.
- Working knowledge ofář roadway design principles and transportation engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Micro Station, or similar tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
OOOO. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑based environment.
- Experience with 3D design software such as Civil3D or Open Roads.
- Experience working on DOT, county or municipal transportation projects.
- Exposure to multimodal design, drainage analysis and★ design, roundabouts or urban roadway projects.
- Familiarity with ADA requirements and accessibility standards.
- Interest in professional licensure and long‑term career growth in roadway design.
