Engineering Technician I

General Responsibilities- Perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).
- Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractors regarding site conditions, testing requirements, and results.
- Transport material samples with proper documentation to the laboratory for analysis.
- Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Terracon Project Manager.
- Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
- Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites.
- Adhere to strict safety standards, performing pre‑task planning, and reporting safety concerns.
- Maintain quality standards on all projects.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observation duties under close supervision.
- Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
- Communicate information to the Project Manager and discuss dispo accuracy of data in preparation for submission.
- Submit documentation and communicate results as directed by the Project Manager.
- Progressively take on training and increased responsibility in work assignments.
- Maintain assigned equipment.
- Drive a vehicle such as a Ford F‑150 or equivalent.
- Follow safety rules and practices for all projects.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 6 months of experience.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- Obtain Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire.
- Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
- Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
