As a Global Planning Modeling Engineer, you will be a central contact for the Manufacturing network, calculating and presenting capital impacts of process changes to senior leaders in manufacturing and R&D!
As a part of Operations Central Team, you will be responsible for connecting many parts of the business in order to drive execution of manufacturing and cost savings processes, including Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Procurement, Production and planning! Innovation is highly valued at Micron, and you will have the opportunity to develop new tools to expedite, optimize and refine the planning and reporting processes used across the network.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Optimize capacity of installed equipment and lead site- and tool-level optimization studies for efficiency improvement.
- Collaborate with partners to understand future tool and process roadmaps, and calculate network capacity impacts of process changes.
- Responsible for managing, auditing, and validating Probe capacity models and systems to determine network capital requirements.
- Complete financial analysis before new capital equipment is purchased including metrics optimization, process flexibility, capacity sharing and equipment repurpose.
- Manage network tool utilization strategies to optimize the company's deployed capital.
- Communicate capacity metrics and strategies to all relevant interested parties, driving accountability and supervising key performance indicators plan over plan.
- Develop, supervise and communicate capital change proposals to manufacturing senior leaders through reporting tools (e.g. Tableau) and formal presentation.
- Build and implement tools to audit manufacturing capital efficiency and identify cost reduction opportunities across the company.
- Manage and communicate improvement opportunities and implementation plans to all relevant levels and functions in manufacturing.
- Apply new (e.g. Python) and traditional (Excel, VBA) methods for improving and automating tasks in planning systems/models
- Successful candidate should have at least 2 years of related experience and Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain or a related field.
- Position requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis or 6 months of experience involving the following:
Linear Programming, Queuing Theory, Statistical Analysis, or Theory of Constraints
- Experience in Semiconductor industry.
- Experience in leading and driving a change through multi-functional teams across Global sites
- Knowledge of Probe Area
