HKA Enterprises is working on behalf of Jacobs, and this role is to support Jacobs’ work through HKA. HKA is unable to support C2C and third-party submissions and C2C requests will not be considered for any positions. Pay: $48.22- $73.08 per hour DOE.
ResponsibilitiesAs an Electrical Engineer in Boise, ’ll have a passion for contributing to projects that enable the heart of our clients’ manufacturing. You’ll oversee designer work, provide team technical leadership, perform quality reviews of design packages and assist directly with the more complex portions of the design process. You’ll also interact directly with the client, owner, and contractors to assist construction on site.
You and the other members of your team will work closely with client owners in a fast paced, dynamic environment to establish design requirements and produce construction documents.
Required:
- Bachelor or higher Degree in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) licensure with ability to obtain in State of Idaho
- At least 10 years of experience in engineering design of building electrical
- Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC)
- Experience performing voltage drop, arc flash, short circuit current, and load flow calculations using SKM PTW, Easy Power or similar modeling software
- Experience in engineering practices and procedures for specifications and selection of all types of electrical equipment and hardware
- Experience reviewing vendor submittal packages against client requirements and specifications
- Field experience interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel
- Ability to perform site punch walk services
Preferred (Ideally):
- At least 2 years of experience working with complex semiconductor manufacturing tools, either their manufacture, installation, or use in clean rooms
- Semiconductor and/or Data Center/Mission Critical facilities electrical design experience
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit or BIM software
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
- Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
- Passionate about buildings and construction
Location:
This is an on-site position requiring work to be performed on the client site in Boise, must be willing to commute to the site Monday-Friday during normal business hours – nominally 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with some flexibility based on ability of site to support and employee preference.
Physical Requirements:
Position requires field visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction. Applicant must be able to walk long distances, sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, lift and carry up to 25lbs.
Authorized to Work:
Applicant must complete background check, drug screen and be fully authorized to work for any client in the United States. Jacobs will not sponsor or continue a visa for this position.
You’ll interact directly with the client, owner, and contractors to assist construction on site and work with client owners to establish design requirements and produce construction documents.
