Project River Engineer – Geo Engineers Inc.
Location:
Boise, y range: $80,200–$113,000 annually. Travel may be required.
- Manage budget, schedule, and delivery of water resource projects, including river and habitat restoration, fish passage design, FEMA studies, natural channel conveyance design, and related projects.
- Lead and conduct field data collection for project objectives.
- Complete engineering analyses and calculations; develop conceptual and numeric models (hydraulic, hydrologic, ecohydraulic, sediment mobility, wood stability, etc.).
- Complete spatial analyses such as mapping, design surface preparation, and contour creation.
- Assist with business development, including client interface, proposal preparation, and budgeting.
- Collaborate with the team to develop project designs, technical reports, specifications, cost estimates, and bid documents.
- Support permitting efforts for regulatory authorization.
- Perform construction observation to help contractors interpret designs.
- Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary project teams.
- Provide technical guidance and training for junior staff and technicians.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Minimum five years of relevant professional experience, including at least two years of project management experience (time counts toward experience requirements).
- Training and experience with standard 1‑dimensional hydraulic models (e.g., HEC‑RAS); preference for candidates with 2‑dimensional hydraulic modeling experience.
- Proficiency with CAD for design development (Civil3D/AutoCAD or Micro Station).
- Knowledge of environmental planning and regulations; familiarity with Pacific Northwest waterways desired.
- PE license required.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must complete background check and reference check.
- Must participate in medical surveillance program.
- Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities and lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
- Able to perform consistent work on a PC.
- Ability to travel for short‑term and long‑term assignments as needed.
- Commit to conducting work safely, reporting hazards, participating in safety briefings, wearing appropriate safety equipment, and completing required health & safety training before fieldwork.
