Lead Civil Engineer (Boise or Colorado Springs)
EVstudio is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to anchor our Boise or Colorado Springs team. This is a high‑impact role for a licensed surveyor who is ready to own technical excellence, grow a Boise‑based team, and collaborate across disciplines within a dynamic and integrated design firm. As the senior‑most surveying professional in the Boise office, you will shape project delivery, guide junior staff, and work closely with our architecture, MEP, civil, and structural teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction staking projects from proposal through delivery.
- Oversee regional strategy, business development efforts, and final hiring decisions as we form a team around YOU.
- Develop survey methodologies, QA/QC workflows, and project standards.
- Oversee field crews; provide technical guidance and mentorship.
- Prepare, certify, and review plats, legal descriptions, and other survey documents.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and planners to integrate survey data into design workflows.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and communication with clients and jurisdictional authorities.
- Support business development through scoping, proposals, and client meetings.
- Active PLS license (or ability to obtain within a reasonable time frame).
- Typically 10+ years of progressive surveying experience, including project leadership.
- Proficiency with modern survey equipment (GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors) and software (Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or equivalents).
- Strong understanding of Colorado and/or Idaho survey law, platting requirements, and land‑use processes.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with limited oversight.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
We are targeting a base salary of $125,000 to $160,000, determined by education, experience, and tenure in the metro area.
